WELCOME SCRIPT

(SAMPLE)

Well hey there, welcome to Kindred today, and thanks so much for spending part of your weekend with us.

My name’s [YOUR NAME], and we’re gonna get things kicked off here in just a moment with the band coming out to lead us in worship.

The lyrics will be up on the screens so you can sing along and engage in worship however you feel comfortable. After that, [SPEAKER'S NAME] will come out to share a great message.

If you have kids with you, we wanna let you know that we’ve got fantastic kids programming happening throughout the entire service. It’s safe, it’s secure, and most importantly your kids are gonna have a blast. There’s still time to check them in; just head to the Kid's Check In through the back doors and one of our team members will help you get your kids checked in.

With all that being said, we’re gonna start our focus with the Word of God and prepare our hearts to worship and hear from Him today. [SHARE WHAT YOU'VE PREPARED].

  • Stand on the stage - NOT the floor

  • Turn on your mic BEFORE you step on stage (Don't spend time fiddling with the mic while on stage, asking if it's on, or if anyone can hear you. If there is a technical problem, don't draw attention to it. Wait patiently, the sound team will cue you when it's fixed.)

  • Keep the "Welcome" under 2 minutes

  • Smile and keep your posture open to the congregation

ARRIVE EARLY

Be sure to arrive early enough to grab an Order of Service print out (available in the sound booth) and take a moment to review it. Look for any last minute changes to the service schedule or announcements you may have missed on Planning Center and adjust your Welcome/Announce times as needed.

For questions about announcements, talk to Nikita Delgado.

For questions about service order, talk to Lyndsay Terry.

WELCOME TIME

When you see the 5 Minute Countdown on screen, go up front to grab your mic. Take note of WHEN the welcome time is scheduled. Sometimes this is immediately after the countdown ends, after the first song or even after a video. Please sit in the front row the weeks you are on schedule.

AFTER COUNTDOWN:

Get up on stage with 10 seconds on the clock and begin Welcome time.

AFTER 1ST SONG:

Do NOT wait until the song is completely finished before making your way onto the stage. The worship leader will cue you with a nod when it's time for you to get on stage, even if the band is still playing.

AFTER VIDEO:

Hop on stage as the video is ending. Wait to begin speaking until the stage lights are on.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

As the Invitation song comes to a close, the worship leader will cue you when to step on stage (the band will continue to play while you pray).

After prayer, be sure to pay attention to the emotional atmosphere of the room and transition into your announcements accordingly. For example, a good way to transition is to pray, acknowledge what God did in people's hearts through the message and worship time, thank the speaker and band, and then move into sharing what's going on at Kindred in the coming weeks.

Be sure to wrap up your 2-3 announcements with an upbeat stage presence and thank our guests for joining us. Be sure to invite our guests to come back again and remind them to connect at the Welcome Counter on their way out.
